If you have H5P activities on your Moodle courses and you want to keep using them, you must transfer the H5P files to Moodle Content Bank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Download the H5P files to your computer.<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Download the H5P files from the H5P activities on your course to your computer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Click the name of the H5P activity.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. When the H5P activity opens, scroll to the bottom of the activity, where you will find the Reuse<\/strong> button.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Click the Reuse<\/strong> button to open the Reuse content<\/strong> view. Select the option Download as an .h5p file<\/strong>.\n

    • If the option Download as an .h5p file<\/strong> is not visible, go to the settings of the H5P activity by clicking Settings<\/strong> below the name of the H5P activity, go to Display options<\/strong>, and check the box Allow download<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Save the settings, and after that the option Download as an .h5p file<\/strong> will be available via the Reuse<\/strong> button at the bottom of the H5P activity.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      Sometimes the H5P file may download to your computer with a rather complex name, and from the name it may not be immediately clear which activity it is. When downloading, it is a good idea to check the name and, if necessary, change it, for example, to the same name you use on the course as the H5P activity name. This makes it easier to identify which H5P file is which if there are several on the course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      <\/p>\n\n\n\n

      2. Upload the H5P file to the Content Bank.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
        \n
      1. Once you have downloaded the H5P files to your computer, go to the Content Bank by clicking More<\/strong> under the course name and selecting Content Bank<\/strong> from the menu that opens.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      2. When the Content Bank opens, click Upload<\/strong>, browse your computer for the H5P file, and upload the file to the Content Bank. Note that only one file at a time can be uploaded to the Content Bank.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        3. Add the H5P file to the course via the Content Bank.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
          \n
        1. On the course, go to the tab where you want to add the H5P activity.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        2. Click Add an activity or resource<\/strong>. Select H5P<\/strong>, give it a name, and write a description.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        3. Find the H5P file in the Content Bank. In the File picker<\/strong> view, select Content Bank<\/strong> from the lower left-hand corner. You will see the H5P files you have added to the Content Bank and can add the desired file by clicking it. By default, the option Link to the file<\/strong> is selected.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        4. In the grade settings, you can define the points that affect grading as well as the grade to pass. Always use points when grading an H5P activity.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        5. In the H5P attempt options, the option that allows viewing students\u2019 attempts is enabled by default.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

          4. How to build a new H5P activity for my course?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
            \n
          1. If you want to build an entirely new H5P activity for your course, go to the Content Bank and click the Add<\/strong> button. From the drop-down menu, select the H5P activity type you want to build for your course.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          2. Once you have finished building the activity in the Content Bank, go to the course, select H5P<\/strong> in the Add an activity or resource<\/strong> view, and add the H5P content from the Content Bank in the same way as was instructed above.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

            5. How to import H5P activities from one course to another?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

            1. Download the H5P file to your computer and upload it to the Content Bank.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

            The safest, but admittedly also the most labor-intensive option is to download the H5P file from the source course to your computer, upload it to the Content Bank of the target course, and add a new H5P activity to the course into which you add the H5P file from the Content Bank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            2. Use the Import function.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

              \n
            1. If the Import function is used to import an entire course into a new course template, the Content Bank is also copied, and its contents are freely available on the new course, which has its own Content Bank.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            2. You can also use the Import function so that you import only the H5P activities and the Content Bank from another course.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            3. If a course contains a large amount of H5P content in the Content Bank and you only want one or two H5P activities from the course, it may be best to use the manual process in option 1 and download the H5P files to your computer and then upload them from the computer to the Content Bank. From a disk space usage perspective, it is not good to copy large Content Banks from one course to another and then not even use their contents on the course. You can also import the entire Content Bank and then delete unnecessary files that are not needed on the course.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

              3. Do not use the Sharing Cart to transfer H5P activities from one course to another.<\/strong>
              When H5P activities are transferred from one course to another using the Sharing Cart, the content of the H5P activity is linked to the source course and remains in the Content Bank of the source course. Such cross-linking between courses is not recommended, so when working with H5P activities, the Sharing Cart is not the best way to transfer content.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
