As a student, you can\u2019t avoid working in teams or on projects in teams \u2013 teamwork is an important part of the profession in every sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How can you get more out of teamwork?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Group work is an opportunity to exchange ideas, share experiences and build knowledge together. In the context of tight deadlines, it can be tempting to split up the work so that everyone works on their own and then just puts it all together. However, this is not a good idea, as both learning and performance to be assessed suffer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  1. Form a common understanding of the objectives of the task, the stages of the work and the timetable<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Each member of the group is responsible for familiarising themselves with the topic and forming their own understanding of it.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. The group works on a common and coherent output according to the teacher\u2019s instructions.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Working online<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    It is not always possible or practical to work on group work in face-to-face meetings only. Online applications such as M365 provide good and easy-to-use tools for collaboration. On this page, you will find tips on how to use the tools provided by Jamk for group work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Co-create on Microsoft 365<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Group work often involves the need to produce written documents or presentations together. M365\u2019s web-based word processing, spreadsheet and presentation tools (Word Online, Excel Online and PowerPoint Online) work well for this purpose. The tools allow group members to write, edit and comment on a shared file, even in real time if necessary. Remember, however, that when the collaborative writing is finished, the final work is usually returned to Moodle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    You can organise the most important part of the collaborative work, the meetings, in Teams. Set up a group in the Chat section of Teams and organise your online meetings and discussions in one place throughout the group work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Zoom as a collaboration tool<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
