One of the key objectives of developing the curricula at Jamk is to utilise digitalisation: \u201cWe are part of higher education institutions\u2019 common digital ecosystem. We enable digital, high-standard and accessible learning, guidance and teaching.\u201d We will digitalise everything that we can.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Change processes in the digital age are also revolutionising the operating models of education and teaching. Technology complements the processes of teaching and learning. We have to understand what teaching and learning are and what kind of competence is needed in this rapidly changing operating environment. To prevent inequality, it is important to note that technology does not necessarily improve or speed up learning. Students need guidance in selecting, evaluating and processing information to be able use digital technologies in their own learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Experts\u2019 digital competence is a combination of knowledge, skills and attitudes: the ability to use IT and digital devices efficiently and appropriately in your work. Digital competence is an element in performing tasks, solving issues, communication, managing information, collaboration, and also in creating and sharing content efficiently, appropriately, safely, critically, creatively, independently and ethically.<\/p>\n\n\n
