Where is the course offer done and where is it published?

Where is the course offer for exchange students done?

International Services has created a programme-specific study module for incoming exchange students for each programme/field that receives exchange students under the separate study modules in Peppi. For example:

  • Exchange Studies: Nursing (Bachelor level)
  • Exchange Studies: Mechanical Engineering (Bachelor level)

The Schools link the courses intended for exchange students in these separate study modules. See the section “How is the course offer done?” for details.

A separate study module has been created for the Language Centre, in which they can link all the language courses that are open for exchange students:

  • Exchange Studies: Languages and Communication offering for all Exchange Students

International Services has linked this module under each programme-specific separate study module, so that students can language studies on the same page directly below the studies offered by their “own” programme.

Common background and basic information

Common background information for all exchange students has been added to the basic information of each module, along with certain programme-specific information that is already available. The information includes e.g. groups, the semesters when exchanges in the programme are possible, the UADE package that is subject to fees and open for all exchange students. International Services requests the Schools/programmes to notify us if there are mistakes in the background information that needs to be corrected or if anything else, especially relevant information for exchange students, needs to be added.

The programmes are also free to add more detailed programme-specific information to the basic/background information of the modules. Such information could be e.g. a note saying that combining courses from different study years is not necessarily possible due to timetable-related reasons etc.

What is the deadline for entering the course offer for exchange students?

In the spring semester the Schools are required to link their courses to the study modules for exchange students by the time the application period for exchange studies at Jamk opens. This means by 15 April for the next autumn semester course offer, and 1 October for the next spring semester course offer.

At the very least the courses being offered must be decided and linked to the separate study modules for exchange students prior to the beginning of the application period. This is because exchange students must be able to draft a study plan (Learning Agreement) for their exchange period at Jamk already during the application period.

This is standard procedure in student mobility processes and also a requirement in the Erasmus+ programme, to which Jamk as an organisation has committed itself in the Erasmus+ Charter for Higher Education. For this reason, the course offer must be available at least for browsing once the application period opens.

Where is the course offer published?

The separate study modules and studies for exchange students and the studies can be found directly in the Peppi curricula.

International Services also lists the study programmes for exchange students and the course offers on the Jamk webpage for exchange students.
