Studio

The DigiCentre’s studio (or Green Room) is a service. Jamk staff can order the service using the video filing form at Elmo-intra. In practice, this means that studio cannot be used independently, but the use of it is always controlled by the staff of the Digicentre.

The studio has a green background fabric and a carpet by default. There is also a blue, black and white background behind the green background. The green and blue background can be replaced by software, for example, with presentation material, landscape or even a video clip, either in presentation or afterwards.

At the back of the studio is a separate observatory with video and audio mixers and recorders. There is also a supervisor’s workstation in the observatory.

The basic equipment of the studio includes: a versatile range of LED lights, 4.6K camcorders, wireless microphones (2 pcs), wired microphones, presentation computer, Samsung Flip 55 ″ digital flipchart and telephony.

For example, a live image of a recording can be displayed on the flipboard, so that the performer will see how he / she is located in the video. The flipchart can also be used as a presentation tool if necessary. The telepromotter is placed in front of the camera lens, and text is projected from the tablet rotating teleprompter guide, whereby the performer’s gaze is aligned directly with the camera.

The products of the same manufacturer, Blackmagic Design, have been selected as a video recording system for a smooth and consistent workflow. Mixing of videos takes place with the ATEM Television Studio Pro 4K, which can also adjust the apertures, colours and values of Ursa Mini Pro 4.6K cameras directly from the mixer. Each image source can be stored separately for its own HyperDeck Studio 12G hard disk recorder with high quality. Sounds are controlled by the Soundcraft Ui16 Digital Mixer. If necessary, the mixer is still guided through the grabber to the laptop, and there, it can be added to the Wirecast Pro software and stored and streamed to various network platforms. It has also been tried through Zoom to send a studio picture to online meetings. For the post-processing and editing of videos, Blackmagic Design’s DaVinci Resolve Studio software is used. The same program handles cutting, effects, colour corrections and sound adjustments. You can use Resolve Studio in our editing room. Resolve can also handle Raw video files produced by cameras. You can download the free version from the manufacturer’s website.

Studio lighting is provided with Aputure LS C300d Light Storm spotlights and Litepanels Astra 3x led panels. Wireless microphones are equipped with the Sennheiser ew 4G models, which are equipped with a tie-in microphone or gate. In addition, there are a few wired microphones that can be used as required (eg high-foil sE 2300).

Studio is a constantly evolving space and service entity that is being developed as it operates and provides new ideas through action.
