Navigation in Elmo-intra

Elmo-intra is the collective intranet for Jamk’s staff and students. Although everyone uses the same intranet, its contents are targeted so that some of it is only visible to staff and some to both students and staff. The staff can therefore always see everything that the students can. However, issues concerning all students are not actively brought to the attention of the staff. Instead the more work-related issues are targeted to the staff.

This is most clearly seen in the intranet’s navigation: Students see slightly different content than staff. Some of the contents may be visible to students under a different name than to the staff. However, in the main navigation, the staff can see everything that the students do, but organised in a slightly different way.
