Office-applications

Since autumn 2014, Jamk ICT Services has have been able to provide Office applications through Microsoft 365 -service to students for free. Free Office package is called Office365 ProPlus and it contains these Office-products: Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, InfoPath, Access, Skype for Business, Publisher, OneNote, Teams. Installation is limited to  5 devices at once and student can use these 5 licenses however they choose, as long as their student accounts are active.

Here’s how you can download and install Office:

Windows/Mac -computers

  1. Log in to Microsoft 365 using your Jamk account (https://m365.jamk.fi)
  2. Click Office365-link at the top of the page to move to the main page
  3. Click “Install and more ” and “Install Microsoft 365 apps”
    • Select language from drop-down menu and select “Install Office”
  4. Locate the file you just downloaded on your hard drive and open it
  5. Follow instructions to complete setup (setup process is almost automatic)
  6. Start one of Office applications and activate them by your own account when asked
    • Use this form:
      • Staff: firstname.lastname@jamk.fi
      • Students: username@student.jamk.fi)

On some cases Office on MacOS environment might need a separate sign in to activate Office-license. You can activate license on Home-tab of any Office app or from the error message that asks you to sign in with another account. Use Jamk's account to sign in again to activate Office-license

Mobile device (iOS and Android)

  1. Open your device’s AppStore / Play -store
  2. Search for “Microsoft 365 (Office)” at the Store and install it
    • You can also install individually only apps that you need. Search with apps name “Microsoft Word”, “Microsoft Excel”, “OneDrive” etc.
  3. Start the app and activate it using your own account when asked.
    • Use the form:
      • Staff: firstname.lastname@jamk.fi
      • Students: username@student.jamk.fi

Chromebook

Microsoft Office is also available for Chomebook’s which supports Android apps. You can check which Android -apps are supported from Play -store.
