Default software on workstations

All Jamk workstations has Microsoft Windows 11 as an operating system and same basic software pre-installed. Besides basic software that comes with the OS, there may also be some other software installed depending of the usage of the workstation.

Software in basic template:

  • Windows 11 Enterprise 64 bit (operating system)
  • Microsoft 365 apps fi/en (Office programs, for example text editing and spreadsheets etc.)
  • Microsoft OneDrive
  • Windows Defender (Anti-virus software)
  • Adobe Acrobat Unified (PDF-reader and editing)
  • Irfanview (picture viewer)
  • Notepad++ (text editor)
  • Firefox (internet browser)
  • Google Chrome (internet browser)
  • Edge (internet browser)
  • VLC media player (video player)

More software can be installed from Software Center

  • Adobe Creative Cloud (used to install other Adobe software)
  • Windows App (remote desktop connection)
  • Microsoft Climpchamp and OpenShot Editor (Video Editor tools)
  • Windows Sandbox (virtual desktop for ex. software testing)
  • Other specified software for administrator and educational fields are available for via separated service request

Some apps are available from Microsoft Store without administrator privileges

  • Zoom (video conferencing)
  • Microsoft PowerToys (utilities for power users)
  • Spotify
