Home folder H

If you do not want to use M365’s OneDrive, you can also use Personal home directory and for all users in Jamk it is called home directory or H-drive (H:). Home directory is a place where users can save their personal files. Nobody else has access to personal home folders, other than users themselves and maintenance staff. The default size limits of home folders are:

  • students 1 GB
  • staff 2 GB

Note that Home Directory (H:) is only available on Jamk's intranet. Or in other words; on campus desktops or with remote connection.

Restoring back-up’s

If you need restore a back-up of your H-drive, you can do it with Window’s “Restore Previous versions” -tool

  1. Open File Explorer
  2. Right-click the folder or file which previous version you like to restore
  3. A new window with version list appears. Select the version that you like to restore
  4. Drag files that you like to restore into location that you prefer for example onto Desktop

Funet FileSender

To send and share large files you can use Funet’s FIleSender -service. The service is available to all Jamk’s staff members and students. Log in to FileSender with Jamk’s credentials.
