Wireless WLAN-networks

Jamk’s wireless network’s service area covers all campuses. The networks has been optimized to work on lecture rooms, conference rooms and on auditoriums but it’s available everywhere inside the campuses.

With PC’s and on personal work tables is recommended to use LAN connection with network cable. LAN connections are also recommended when stable connection with high speed is required for example on auditoriums and video conferences.

Available networks

• JAMK-staff
  • Works automatically on all computers maintained by Jamk’s ICT-services
• Eduroam
  • You can use Eduroam network with your personal devices for ex. laptops and mobile device
  • For authentication you’ll need Jamk’s or other schools credentials. With Jamk’s credentials you use email address to authenticate
• JAMK-guest
  • For guests who does not have any credentials to authenticate on Eduroam network
  • Password available from ICT-services and info-services

• JAMK, open network (available only at Pitkäkatu)
• JAMK-N open network (available only at Pitkäkatu)

WLAN Availability

Wireless network covers basically all campuses at Jamk. If you notice that wireless network does not work at some location, please contact Helpdesk.

Eduroam

Eduroam is the international collaboration service for easier network access for academic users. The service is available e.g. in Finnish universities and in most of the universities of applied sciences. Users log in to Eduroam wlan using their own username and password of their home organization.

When logging on to the network, the ID is given in the form:

Staff: firstname.lastname@jamk.fi
Student: username@student.jamk.fi
