Moodle as a learning platform

We are using a Moodle as a digital learning platform at Jamk.

  2. You will need to confirm your login in the Microsoft Authenticator app on your mobile device.

Please refer to the instructions on how to set up strong authentication and the Authenticator app.

Getting to know Moodle

Practise using Jamk’s Moodle in the Student Moodle Orientation course on the Moodle.

  1. Login to Moodle (see instructions above).
  2. In the course search box in the top right-hand corner of the Moodle, type Student Moodle Orientation, 2023-2024.
  3. Click on the course name in the search results.

  5. Start practising using Moodle according to the course instructions.

Quick guide to Moodle desktop

After logging in, you will always be presented with your own desktop first.

  1. In the top left corner you will find shortcuts to the desktop and the homepage.
  2. In the top right corner you will find the language shortcut, course search, notifications, messages and your user profile.
  3. From the middle section, you can easily access the courses you are enrolled in.
  4. You can sort the courses, for example by course name or most recent course attendance. You can also choose the view you want on your desktop: card, list or course description.

You can also find a calendar on the desktop showing the due dates for assignments. Please note that not all assignment due dates may appear in the calendar. This includes, for example, the return of nonstop assignments that you schedule yourself. Always follow your teacher’s instructions carefully regarding the due dates for assignments.

Editing the Moodle desktop

You can edit the desktop view by clicking on the Edit this page button.

For example, in edit mode, you can move the Timeline block higher up on the desktop to make it easier to keep track of assignment deadlines.
