The privacy statement is based on the Personal Data Act (523/1999).

3 Register name
The customer register of the enrolment and application system of continuing education (Short course).
4 Processing personal information
The system is used in enrolment or application for Jamk open studies, continuing studies, ordered training courses and separate applications.
For the organising of education, the name and contact information of the applicant are required. For fee-based studies, the contact information of the payer (applicant/employer) is also required. If the applicants that are elected for the studies will need Jamk’s network user ID, the applicant’s personal ID number is asked in the enrolment/application. In addition, the personal ID is required for the information processing in the Study information system Peppi.
Personal information is processed and maintained according to the Act on the Protection of Privacy. Only employees who have rights to the system and whose work tasks involve processing personal information can see and process this information.
The personal information is saved to the customer register of the system. To enable studying the personal information is transferred programmatically to the Study information system Peppi.
The personal information is deleted two years after the education has finished. The register is maintained by the main content user of the system at Jamk Educational Development Services.
5 Register information contents
Information is gathered from the person to be registered in the enrolment/application stage. The following data are saved into the register:
- Name
- ID number (is required of persons who have a Finnish personal identification number)
- Date of birth (is required of persons who do not have a Finnish personal identification number)
- Address
- Home municipality
- e-mail address
- Telephone number
And, if needed,
- Gender
- Occupation/title
- Employer
- Country (if not Finland)
- Home country
6 Regular information sources
Information is gathered from the person to be registered in the enrolment / application stage.
7 Regular information hand-overs and information transfer outside the EU or the European Economic Area
The information is not disclosed to third parties.
The information in the register are used in the processing of the enrolments/applications made in the enrolment system, at Jamk Data Administration for the purpose of creating network user IDs, and in the marketing of Jamk’s trainings and courses.
No regular information hand-overs outside the EU or the European Economic Area.
8 Register protection principles

B Information processed electronically
Access to the system is limited at Jamk to specific persons and is determined by their working duties. The use of the system requires a user ID and a password.
9 Inspection right
Based on a personal request, a person entered in the personnel register is entitled to inspect the correctness and currency of any personal information in the register. 10 Right to demand information correction
Everyone is entitled to demand the correction of invalid information in the register. The correction request must be made in writing and specified to a sufficient degree. 11 Other rights related to the processing of personal information
Everyone may forbid the processing of his/her personal information. In such cases, the information is deleted from the register.
