Guidance and feedback workshop

The objective of the Guidance and Feedback Workshop is to improve the guidance and feedback of the course.

Purpose

The purpose of the Tasks Workshop is for the teacher to:

  • Identify the needs for guidance and feedback in their course
  • Plan guidance in advance
  • Explore the possibilities of guidance and feedback in Moodle
  • Utilize co-development and colleagues’ expertise to enhance guidance and feedback

Students need guidance and feedback to support their learning

Students need continuous guidance to support their learning. It helps them aim towards the competencies defined in the learning objectives. The goal of guidance is also to support the development of the student’s own thinking, self-direction, reflection, and problem-solving skills. Assessment and feedback are tools for guidance. It is important to provide feedback during the course, not just at the end.

The role of feedback

Feedback aims to motivate the student and direct them towards learning objectives. It indicates whether the activity/competence is at the expected level. Additionally, its role is to influence the learner’s learning process by correcting, redirecting, and encouraging learning. Feedback tells the student where they succeeded and how they can improve in the future.
