Changing your password

There are several ways to change your password.

Using Microsoft 365
Using workstations on campus
Using Self service password reset with online bank account (you can also reset forgotten password)
Using remote desktop connection

Remember to update your password on all your devices so your account doesn’t get locked due invalid login attempts. Do not forget to update Eduroam credentials! If none of the methods below work for you, please contact Helpdesk or Student Services.

Using Microsoft 365 (preferred)

Log in to Microsoft 365 at https://m365.jamk.fi
Click on the wheel icon at the top right corner
- If the wheel menu is not visible, return to the home page by clicking on the Jamk logo in the upper left corner
Select “Change your password” from the drop-down menu
Enter your old password and new password twice
- Minimum password length is 14 characters including uppercase / lowercase letters (no umlauts) and numbers

Using workstation on campus

Log in to Windows -workstation
Press Ctrl + Alt + Del
Select “Change Password”
Type in your old password and a new one
- Minimum password length is 14 characters including uppercase / lowercase letters (no umlauts) and numbers

Using Self service password reset with Finnish online bank account (you can also reset forgotten password)

A new user can fetch their username and set password using Self service password reset. It is also possible to change or reset forgotten password using this service.

Go to: https://tunnistus.jamk.fi

Select your bank
Log in with your personal online bank account number/pin
Check that all information is correct
Service lists all accounts you have on Jamk, select the one which you want to change your password for
Type in the new password
- Minimum password length is 14 characters including uppercase / lowercase letters (no umlauts) and numbers

Using remote connection

If you don’t have appropriate bank account with online access and/or you are not working at the campus, change your password as follows:

Open remote desktop connection via remote.jamk.fi
After the desktop has opened use keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Alt + Delete (available on browser only on full screen mode)
- Alternative shortcut Ctrl + Alt + End
Select “Change password”
Write your old password and provide a new one
