Sharing cart when transferring course sections, activities or resources
1. Go to your Moodle course and add the Sharing cart block there.
You can add the Sharing cart to the course only if you have teacher rights in the course.
- Click Edit more on in the top right-hand corner.
- Click Add a block in the top right-hand corner.
- Click Sharing cart in the menu that opens.
- The Sharing cart block appears to the right-hand side of your course. A shopping cart icon appears next to all activities and resources on the course.
2. Copy contents to the Sharing cart.
- If you want to copy entire sections of the course, such as all contents of a whole tab, select the section from the drop-down menu in the Sharing Cart block.
- Click Copy section. Please wait patiently as the section is copied.
- If you want to copy individual activities or resources from the course, click on the shopping cart icon next to the activity or resource, and wait patiently as the activity or resource is copied to the Sharing Cart.
3. Transfer the contents you added to the Sharing Cart to another Moodle course.
- Browse to other Moodle course where you have teacher rights.
- Turn editing on, click Add a block, find Sharing Cart from the drop-down menu, and click on it. The Sharing Cart will appear on the right-hand side of your course.
- All contents you copied from the other course will be visible in the Sharing Cart.
- If you want to add the contents of an entire section to your course, add a new empty tab to your course. Then, click the Copy to course button next to the tab you copied in the Sharing Cart.
- You will see an arrow icon on the empty tab. Click on it. Select Overwrite section name and settings option and wait patiently for the contents to be copied.
- If you want to add an individual activity or resource from the Sharing Cart, navigate to the desired tab, click the Copy to course button next to the activity or resource. An arrow icon will appear at the bottom of the tab. Click on it and wait for the content to be copied.
