Study modules
A study module is the main element of the curriculum under which the courses included in the module are compiled. A study module can only be created simultaneously with its structure. For advice on how to create a study module, see the instructions for structure.
The following information must be provided for the study module:
- Name (Finnish and English)
- Optional status of the content (all compulsory, select one, select n units, select x ECTS credits, or select according to separate criteria)
- If “select n study units” is chosen above, please enter the number of units to be selected
- If “select N credits” or “according to specific criteria” is chosen above, please provide the number of ECTS credits (min–max)
- Criteria (Finnish and English) – not required if “all chosen” is selected above, in other case describes which studies students must complete from the module and which are optional or elective studies.
- Optionality Description – the field is not visible to the student!
- Learning objectives
- Core content
- If applicable, prerequisites and additional information
- The Additional information field describes how to make module studification in case the entire module can made studification.
NB: It is important to describe the criteria of the study module, because the student sees compulsory of his/her study on his / her PLP from the Criteria section when not all the courses under the study module are compulsory or optional.
