Learning paths

In Peppi, learning paths mean specialisation studies within a degree programme. You can create a structure on the ‘Learning path’ tab so that the student will only see the studies included in their specialisation in the ‘Learning path’ view. Each learning path will include the studies that are common to all and the studies included in the specialisation concerned.

To add a new learning path to a curriculum, do the following:

  1. From the main menu, select Curricula planning > Curricula.
  2. Select the curriculum to which you want to add a learning path. Further information: Search feature.
  3. Open a curriculum by clicking on it in the search results.
  4. From the menu, select Learning path, and then click Add learning path.
    The Learning path window opens.
  5. Enter an abbreviation, name and description for the learning path. The abbreviation may be e.g. the first three letters of the path name + year.
If applicable, you can also define a group the learning path pertains to.
  6. Click the Save button.
The abbreviation of the learning path appears in the right-hand side of the screen. A learning path with no abbreviation will appear without a name.
  7. Tick the checkboxes of those study modules and units that you want to include in the learning part.
    Your selections are saved automatically.

NB. The course must be attached to one of the learning paths in order to appear on the student’s PLP or be taken there.
