Curriculum description

Basic information

The mandatory fields for a curriculum include ‘Name’, ‘Code’ and ‘Validity dates’. The ‘Duration’ fields should also be filled out as it has an effect on the syllabus preparation.

The other mandatory information at Jamk include ‘Educational level’, ‘ECTS credits’ and ‘Language’.

Specifications

Here, you can specify which degree programmes, for example, are linked to the curriculum.

Mandatory fields in order for annual planning to work correctly for the curriculum concerned include ‘Group’ and ‘Organisation’.

The other mandatory information at Jamk include ‘Degree’, ‘Degree title’, ‘Programme’, ‘Type’ and ‘Person in charge’.

Description

This section is used for specifying the specialisation(s) and implementation method of the curriculum. The degree programme is not described in this section. The degree programme description is carried out from the ‘Units’ menu. Be sure to only use the ‘Description’ field for describing the curriculum, because the other fields are not displayed to students.

Attachments

If needed, you can attach attachments to the curriculum.

Curriculum groups

Group(s) must be assigned both for the curriculum and the syllabus it includes. The groups are typically so-called starting groups (HTL19S1 = Students who started in the Degree Programme in Business Administration in the autumn of 2019).


NB. Since autumn 2021, open studies study path groups are assigned for the curricula and syllabuses of bachelor and master degrees.


Curriculum versions

You can view the previous versions of the curriculum description or restore an old version as the working version.

  1. Click the Versions button at the top of the curriculum page.
  2. From the drop-down menu, select the curricula to be compared.
  3. Click the Show versions button. Some of the information of the versions being compared are displayed side by side under each version. If there are differences between the versions in these sections, they will be highlighted.
  4. To restore one of the versions being compared as the working version, click the Resume button next to the version name.
    The system will create a new version of the restored version so that all previous versions can still be viewed.
  5. Click the Close link to exit the ‘Versions’ window.
